Who is this course for?
No prior knowledge of Sanskrit is required. In this course, we aim to introduce you to the modern spoken Sanskrit and classical Sanskrit in which most of the texts are written. The syllabus covered in this course will be equivalent to the Diploma or Certificate courses offered by Indian universities.
For those who are interested in speaking Sanskrit
We will demostrate how to speak day-to-day life simple Sanskrit sentences and learn to have basic conversations. After learning modern conversations, we will learn simple conversations from Sanskrit Dramas and learn coversations of natural speakers of the language by reading classical Sanskrit stories from Panchatantra and Hitopadesh. We will learn basic Sanskrit grammar and sentence formation rules.
Interactive sessions will involve Quizes, Flashcards, Storytelling, Sanskrit News, Songs in Sanskrit.
Those who are interested in reading Sanskrit texts
We will learn how to read Sanskrit texts and write grammatically correct Sanskrit sentences.
We will encoourage people to follow simple tecniques of interpretation and will introduce them to the resources available for understanding Sanskrit texts.
