Required a post for one Project Postdoc Fellow (One post) in Central Pollution Control Board-MoEFCC sponsored Project entitled, “Creation of Secretariat at IIT, Kanpur for National Knowledge Network (NKN) to support National Clean air Programme (NCAP) activities” on plain paper. The appointment is purely temporary and on contractual basis.

ABOUT THIS PROJECT

The National Knowledge Network (NKN) was formed under the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) with a vision to build local technical capacities in order to have a larger pool of institutes to support activities under NCAP. NKN is also proposed to prepare the identified Institutes of Repute (IoR) not only for the currentprogramme but also to create adequate capacity in the states to support future air quality management efforts. IIT Kanpur has been designated as the National Co-ordinating Institute for NKN. A secretarial support system is being created at IIT Kanpur under the NKN and CPCB shall provide financial support to IITK.

Project Postdoc Fellow

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences / Aerosol Science / Physics / Climate Sciences / Marine Sciences / Environmental Sciences

Salary: Rs. 47000 per month (Consolidated), depending on experience + 16% HRA as per institute norms.

Desirable:

Working knowledge on in-situ measurements of aerosols over land and Ocean

Familiarity in handling aerosol sampling instruments

Knowledge of computer programming

Familiarity with aerosol transport and physics

Experience in radiative transfer modeling

Strong knowledge of air pollution and data analysis
