Applications are invited for one post of Project Post-doctoral fellow in US Department of State via DUKE University sponsored project "Building capacity to improve air quality in South Asia: Reducing PM2.5through low-cost sensor network driven policydecisions". Essential Qualification

  • Ph.D. in Civil Engineering/Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Atmospheric Sciences/Chemistry/Climate Sciences
  • Significant background in data analysis
  • High proficiency in programming (python/any other programming language)
  • Experience in working on sensors network.

Desirable qualification

Good publication record in top notch conferences and journals in machine learning and data science. Strong background in the theory of machine learning and statistics

Nature of Work
The candidate would be responsible for coordinating and running large scale network for air quality measurements using low cost sensors and also take part in analysis of large data sets evolved during such monitoring. The candidate will work for developing regression models for high precision. The models should be able to effectively handle the problem of variations in data with time, geographical location and environment. This post is a partof a larger project of international importance and the candidate will have anopportunity to interact with leading international scientists in this field.

Duration of Appointment

  • The appointment for the post is for 3.0 years. Appointment will initially be for one year. Renewal will be subjected to the performance of the candidate.
  • The post is purely temporary and on contractual basis.
  • Consolidated salary: Rupees 60,000/-
