We are seeking a full-time research associate to join Professor Tripathi's research group at the Department of Civil Engineering & Centre of Environmental Science and Engineering (IIT Kanpur). The post is funded by Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences (BRNS) under the project National Aerosol Facility (NAF). The appointment is for one year and purely temporary and on contractual basis which will extend on your output. The salary is Rs. 40,000 INR per month. ABOUT THE PROJECT
You will be responsible for the development and implementation of some path breaking experiments in the field of aerosol science and technology under NAF. This project will help to address the aerosol behavioral issues in Indian Pressurized Heavy Water Reactors (PHWRs) and generate a comprehensive database to facilitate the development of in-house analytical tools. This facility will serve a s a state-of-the-art test facility for studying current outstanding aerosol mechanistic behavior issues in safety assessments pertaining to the Indian PHWRs. This will be the first National Aerosol Facility in the country, and indeed in academic institutes of Asia. NAF will help quantify the aerosol source term stimulators of 'Severe Reactor Accident Scenario' and their impact on the environment. You will be working as part of a team on this.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
You should possess a doctorate, with 2 years experience, in Atmospheric Sciences/Physics/Climate Sciences/ Chemistry/Chemical Engineering/Environmental Science & Engineering/Nuclear Engineering with a background in computer programming, mathematical analysis. In particular we are looking for someone who has good knowledge of aerosol transport and physics.
