Requirements: M.E/M.Tech/M.Sc/B.E/B.Tech with demonstratable capability/inclination in a subset of the following:
(a) Computational electromagnetics, light propagation in atmosphere
(b) Numerical methods (especially for PDEs and Linear Algebra)
(c) Signal processing
Academically inclined candidates with a research potential and interest in the above areas will be preferred. M.Sc/B.E/B.Tech candidates need to have cleared NET/GATE or equivalent.
Project Brief: The problem of cloud imaging and in particular, shape retrieval is of fundamental importance in meteorological studies. Using the fact that the problem of remote sensing the atmosphere can be modeled analogously to that of tissue imaging in optical tomography, in this study, we propose cloud monitoring studies in a radiative transfer equation(RTE) modeled tomographic framework.
Emoluments: Rs 25000/- per month (consolidated).
Duration: Initial appointment will be for at most 1 year.
