• Richa Srivastava (M. Tech 2nd year) has been awarded EAGE Travel Grant for 80th EAGE Conference & Exhibition to be held in Copenhagen, Denmark. Richa will make an oral presentation on 'An improved compact inversion approach for 2D gravity data modeling using probabilistic bound to the weighted least square solution'. This work is based on her M.Tech dissertation under Prof. Animesh Mandal.
  • Seema Kumari (3rd year Ph.D. student) has received the prestigious DAAD fellowship to carry out part of her research at University of Münster, Germany (Co-Advisor: Prof. Andreas Stracke). Seema is working on the origin of chemical heterogeneity within Earth's mantle using crust-mantle isotopic evolution models.
  • Sohini Bhattacharjee (3rd year Ph.D. student) has received the prestigious DAAD fellowship to carry out part of her research at University of Potsdam, Germany (Co-Advisor: Dr. Bodo Bookhagen). Sohini is working on the estimation of the paleo-erosion rates in the Himalayas based on the cosmogenic radionuclide analysis of alluvial sediment cores.

  • Graduate student Manab Mukherjee is the lead author of a review paper on coal bed methane research. The publication has appeared in Earth Science Reviews. Department faculty Prof. Santanu Misra is also a co-author on the publication.
  • Prof. Santanu Misra has co-authored a publication dealing with the anatomy of shear zones. The publication has been accepted in The Geological Society of America Bulletin.

  • Dr. Neeraj Awasthi, Post Doctoral Fellow is the lead author on a paper in Chemical Geology discussing Sr and Nd isotope analysis of alluvial sediments from the Ganga Basin. Graduate students Esha Ray and Prof. Debajyoti paul are other co-authors on the paper.
  • Prof. Debajyoti Paul is a co-author of two recent publications focusing on recovery of gold and platinum from refinery waste water. The publications have been accepted in Journal of Separation and Purification Technology and Environmental Science and Pollution Research respectively.

  • Prof. Deepak Dhingra has co - authored a paper on spatial variations in the dust - to - gas ratio of Enceladus' plume. The paper has been accepted in the journal Icarus .
  • Prof. Deepak Dhingra has co - authored a paper on compositional studies of Mare Moscovience on the Moon. The paper is in press in the journal Icarus .

  • Dr. Ajit Singh , former ES Ph.D. Student is the lead author of a paper in Nature Communications on counter - intuitive influence of Himalayan river morphodynamics on Indus Civilisation urban settlements. ES faculties, Prof. Rajiv Sinha and Prof. Debjyoti Paul are co - authors on this publication which was a joint effort between IIT Kanpur and Imperial college London.
