Installation Instructions For BlueJ

  1. Install jdk1.3.x on your system.

  2. Download the bluej installation package(use "Save Link As" which you get when you right-click or shift-click the link given above, just clicking does not work in some browsers).

  3. Check file size, it should be 694,700 bytes.

  4. Installation
    Linux -> Run the installer by executing java -jar bluej-114.jar
    Windows -> Double-click the install file i.e bluej-114.jar. If the system is not configured to run .jar files, open DOS command follow the instructions for Linux.

  5. In the installer, select your installer directory and your JDK directory and install. Note: The blueJ path must not contain spaces.
    In your bluej directory, you will find a file called bluej(Linux) or bluej.bat(Windows). Run this file to run BlueJ.

  6. Optionally, you could remove the installer file bluej-114.jar, if you do not wish to make any further installations.
