ICAME is an international biennial conference that provides a major forum for scientists of various disciplines who deal with Mössbauer spectroscopy. It aims at exploring topics in diverse fields such as physics, chemistry, biology, materials science, mineralogy, earth science and archeology. ICAME 2007 will present an overview of the current status and enlighten the future potentials involving Mössbauer effect. It gives immense pleasure to extend invitation at IIT Kanpur for the International Conference on the Applications of the Mössbauer Effect. Some of the recent past ICAME conferences were held at Budapest, Hungary (1989); Nanjing, China (1991); Vancouver, Canada (1993); Rimini, Italy (1995); Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (1997); Garmisch, Germany (1999); Oxford, UK (2001); Muscat, Oman (2003); Montpellier, France (2005) with the purpose of bringing together scientists involved in research of various aspects of Mössbauer spectroscopy and their applications. ICAME 2007 will serve a space for the interactions among researchers engaged in the broad field of Mössbauer spectroscopy and its applications. Along the lines of the directives of the International Board on the Application of Mössbauer effect, the focus of the conference is to explore emerging research trends in Mössbauer spectroscopy and provide a platform for International research collaborations among scientists from different countries. The calm and serene setting of IITK campus would provide an ideal environment for this. We welcome active participation and discussion in ICAME 2007. Invited speakers will present significant recent developments and new applications in Mössbauer spectroscopy and outline future perspectives. Their contributions will be complemented by oral/poster presentations from participants. ICAME 2007 cordially invites abstracts of original research work from scientists, researchers and academicians all over the world dealing with Mössbauer spectroscopy. Incidentally, ICAME 2007 coincides with NAVARATRI, DURGA–PUJA & VIJAYDASHMI some of the holy festivals of India .
