The short term course will emphasize on recent trends in areas of deep learning (DL) and computational
intelligence (CI) in automation and control and related applications. The objective is to provide a platform to the teachers of various engineering fields to exchange views and ideas in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
Deep learning attempts
to learn high-level abstractions present in data and provides flexibility to present data
as nested hierarchy of concepts.
Computational Intelligence is a set of biological and linguistic tools and
methodologies that cover neural network, fuzzy logic and evolutionary computing.
Both these
fields are inspired from neuroscience, genetics and behavioral science. These tools are
useful in numerous disciplines including computer vision, speech and audio processing,
natural language processing, robotics, bioinformatics, chemistry, video games, search
engines, finance, neuroscidence. Experts in these fields will deliver talks to share their
views and works with the attendees.
The short course is a unique opportunity to learn and
explore ways to harmonize the power of Deep learning and Computational Intelligence tools
and techniques. This course will cover the basics of both DL and CI and show their most
recent research trends and discoveries.
