The goal was to educate road users and different sections of the campus community on some basic road rules - maintaining speed limit, making the correct right turn, avoiding blowing horn and using low beam at night while driving on campus. We also worked on ensuring 'pedestrian only' areas remain so in the academic area. The success of the Traffic Week would not have been possible without the support of a large number of campus community members. The traffic-etiquette group would like to specifically thank SIS and IIT security for their strong support and involvement in the Traffic Week throughout the week; IWD for promptly getting ready the necessary infrastructure; the Design Group; Traffic experts from CE department faculty; and last but certainly not the least, the steady support and encouragement of the institute administration in various forms for the success of the event. I would also like to thank the volunteers of the traffic etiquette group for the valuable time they spent attending meetings, planning the event, getting things ready and volunteering - especially while having to take care of their other daily responsibilities. Based on our learning from the week-long event, we plan to continue our efforts to facilitate and improve traffic on campus over the semester till the next traffic week. We look forward to continued support from all of you. Please follow the traffic rules and basic courtesy to others, whether driving/cycling/walking on the campus roads - and please encourage others to do so too!
