Football [n]: A game in which the object is to move a
ball into the space protected by a male solidarity. [The Feminist Dictionary]
Football, very simply put, is a game where players of two teams run after one
ball with the purpose of putting the ball in the opposition net -- the team with
more goals wins. You need to
have legs to play this game. Have Legs, Will Kick!!!

Hall No Bar, Batch No Bar. And (new! improved!) Sex No Bar!!! This
JOSH introduces a separate tournament for women.
[Trivia: Apparently football originated in medieval
times, when people celebrated victory in battle by kicking their vanquished
enemies' heads from one end of the village to another.]
Venue: Football Ground (opposite Swimming Pool)
Teams:
- Men: 7 players per team.
- Women: 5 players per team.
- You may use any number of substitutes during the tournament, but no player
who is registered in or has played for another team can play in your team. There can be at most 3 substitutions in
a single match.
Rules:
- Standard football rules apply. The field and goals will be of
reduced size, since this a 7-a-side tournament.
- Each match is 30 + 5 minutes long (15 minutes per half + 5 minutes
break).
- No offsides.
- No throw-ins (only kick-ins).
- No Goalkeepers. If anybody is found handling the ball when the ball
is heading for the goal, he shall be directly given a red card and a
penalty will be awarded against his team.
- In case of a draw, 3 penalty shots will be taken by each team to
break the tie.
- All penalties shall be taken on the full-size goal-posts.
- The referee's decisions are final and anybody found unnecessarily
arguing with the referee may be asked to leave the field.
- Don't foul the opponent players or you'll be cautioned/sent off.
- Teams must be punctual. There will be no delay in the
matches -- the official time will be adhered to strictly. If at least seven
members of a team are not present at the starting time of the match, a
walkover shall be awarded to the other team. The decision of the coordinators
shall be final in this regard.
- Please come suitably kitted up. No one will be allowed to play in
jeans. Also, no one will be allowed to play barefoot or in shoes other than
football boots/sneakers (that means no hiking boots, no running
spikes, no Red Tape: Fashion For Your Feet...).
- For selecting lucky losers, the goal difference upto that stage
shall be considered. In case two teams have equal goal differences, goals
scored by each team upto that stage shall be considered. If these
are also equal, then the goal differences in the teams' respective last
matches shall be compared.
- Other details will be clarified on the field by the referee and the
organizers.
