Hockey is the national sport of India, and needs to introduction. Although
India's towering reputation in world hockey has gone down a little in the last
few decades, we're still among the best out there. Adroit stick-handling and
teamwork combine to make a good hockey player.
Venue: Hockey Field (opposite Swimming Pool)
Teams:
- Hockey will be played in the Men's category only.
- 7 players per team.
- You may use any number of substitutes during the tournament, but no player
who is registered in or has played for another team can play in your team. There can be at most 3 substitutions in
a single match.
Rules:
- Each match will be 30 minutes long (2 halves of 15 mins each with a
break of 5 mins in between). This rule is only for rounds 1 and 2 -- later
rounds may have longer matches.
- A team will be given a walkover in case the opposition does not
arrive within 10 mins after the scheduled time.
- Hits inside the D are not allowed. All other standard rules apply.
- Any number of substitutions is allowed during a match.
- Sticks, shin-pads and goalie kit will be provided at the ground.
- Don't foul the opponent players or you'll be cautioned/sent off.
Please don't swing your sticks wildly! We've seen enough hockey injuries
to last us quite a while.
- The referee’s decision is final in case of any controversy.
- Other details will be clarified on the field by the referee and the
organizers.
