Tennis will be played on both clay and cemented courts. If you are a Federer
fan (it's hard not to be one!), then you must register. Tennis is a fun game,
involving energy and skill. You score a point by hitting the ball over the net
into the other half of the court so that the opponent cannot return it. The ball
must bounce in the opposite half each time it is hit, and you must hit the ball
before the second bounce in your half. Strong wrists and willing legs come in
useful!
Venue: Tennis Courts (between Halls 2 and 3)
Teams:
- There will be singles and doubles tournaments for men, and a
mixed doubles tournament (one man and one woman per team). There
will also be a doubles tournament for women depending on the response.
- No substitution is allowed.
Rules:
- Standard tennis rules apply.
- The number of sets in each match and the format of the tournament
(knockout or league) will be decided once registration is over and we know how
many teams are participating.
- In singles, the playing area excludes the sidecourts. In doubles the
entire court is allowed. Serves must be crosscourt.
- Finer points will be clarified on the court by the chair-umpire and the
organizers.
- The chair-umpire's decisions are final.
- Please get your own racquets to play tennis.
