About IIM Kanpur Chapter
IIM Kanpur Chapter is one of the important chapters of the Indian Institute of Metals with active participation from Department of Materials Science and Engineering (Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur), Defense Materials and Stores Research and Development Establishment (DMSRDE, Kanpur), Department of Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering, U.I.E.T, C.S.J.M. University (Kanpur), Ordnance Factory (Kanpur) and other local industries. The aim of the IIM Kanpur Chapter is to promote awareness about materials and metallurgical engineering in the society.
IIM Kanpur chapter organizes Metals and Materials Quiz inviting class XI/XII students from Kanpur, IIM foundation day and Annual General Meeting (AGM) every year. The activities also include organizing workshops, conferences, lectures from eminent speakers, sessions for faculty-student interaction etc.
