The role: We are looking for an outstanding researcher to join the dynamic Prof. Tripathi’s Group (http://home.iitk.ac.in/~snt/) within the Civil Engineering Department at IIT Kanpur. The post is available for a period of two years. This position will be at the forefront of air quality studies in India. The position is part of the project that is of great national importance and is funded by Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
Successful applicant will work closely with national and international collaborators and is expected to develop innovative approaches towards handling large data sets. The results should be presented at national and international meetings as well as published in high-impact peer-reviewed journals.

Selection criteria Researchers applying for the post should have obtained a doctorate in Civil Engineering/Atmospheric Sciences/Aerosol Science/Physics/Climate Sciences /Environmental Sciences/Atmospheric physics or a related quantitative field. Experience in handling large set of data from aerosol mass spectrometer (AMS) or proton-transfer-reaction mass spectrometer (PTR-MS), field experiment environmental sensing/measurement is important. He/she must have the ability to work collaboratively yet independently. He/she will get the opportunity to work in a conducive environment and can avail the hostel/family accommodation facility at IITK. A minimum of two years’ working experience is also required. Publications in peer-reviewed journals of high impact factor is desirable.
