The second training program
for HAL Management Trainees (Technical) in Aircraft Engineering and
Manufacturing Technology conducted by IIT Kanpur was formally inaugurated
by Professor Sanjay G Dhande, Director, IIT Kanpur on August 2, 2004
at IIT Kanpur. The Management trainees are selected by HAL from all
over the country. There are 25 trainees in this batch, who will be undergoing
training at IIT Kanpur. Professor N G R Iyengar, Coordinator of the
program welcomed the gathering and gave highlights of the training which
will be of one semester duration. They will be taught six courses including
the laboratories by the faculty of Aerospace, Materials & Metallurgical
and Mechanical Engineering departments. Professor Gautam Biswas, Dean
of Academic Affairs welcomed the trainees and advised them to take full
advantage of the laboratory facilities available in the Institute so
that they become fully equipped to face the challenges of the aeronautical
industry. |
Shri S K Dey, Principal of
the HAL Management Academy, Bangalore mentioned to the trainees that
they have got the unique opportunity for undergoing this program in
one of the best Institutes of the country and they must take full advantage
of it so that they are ready to meet the challenges of the aeronautical
industry which is becoming very sophisticated and complicated. Shri
D K Mahajan, General Manager HAL Kanpur said that today the Executive
Directors, General Managers who are heading the various units are also
products of similar program started almost three decades ago. At that
time the training was given by Aeronautical department of IIT Kanpur
and AFTC at Bangalore. They should be proud that that they have joined
one of the successful organization of the country. Professor Sanjay
G Dhande in his inaugural address mentioned that the trainees should
not take this training as a mere extension of the UG Programme. They
are now employees of HAL and this program has given an opportunity to
them to become professionals in their area of interest. They should
make full use of the opportunity to enrich themselves to become responsible
professionals.
Professor N G R Iyengar then
proposed the vote of thanks to the dignitaries present and also to the
faculty present on his occasion and concluded the program with a hope
that the trainees will find the program a challenging one. |
