NCC students of IIT Kanpur underwent a para sailing camp for two days from March 27-28, 2004. The camp was conducted at the IITK airstrip. Prof. C.Venkatesan, Dean of Students' Affairs was personally present on the air field to encourage and motivate the cadets. The camp was conducted by Uttar Pradesh Adventure Organization. The concluding words were given by Lt. Col. D.Routray, the Commanding Officer of the NCC, "An activity like para sailing instills a sense of confidence in the cadets apart from inculcating essential qualities of camaraderie and a spirit of adventure".
