VIGILANCE OFFICE IIT KANPUR
The
Vigilance Week at IITK commenced with an oath taking ceremony
on 1st November 2004 in which the Head of the Departments and Centres participated.
Speaking on the occasion the Institute Chief Vigilance Officer Prof. A.K.
Sinha said that Vigilance is an important prerequirement for effective management
of any organization. Although an Educational Institution cannot possibly run
on pattern of a police or defence organization. However, we must adopt preventive
measures as far as possible. The Director of the Institute Prof. S.G. Dhande
gave the assurance that probably not all officers become aware of all the
actions taken by the Institute or the top officials but that does not mean
that Institute is lacking in its efforts, awareness and management, of vigilance
issues. The key functionaries of the Institution make all possible efforts
to keep the Institutional activities devoid of corruption. Prof. Dhande also
gave away the Prizes to the participants and the winners of an essay competition
that was organized by the vigilance office on the occasion.
