Applications are invited for seven nos. of Project Associate/Senior
Project Associate in the following sponsored projects tenable at
the Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Kanpur under the supervision
of the undersigned.
- “Study of Flow Structures and Associated Acoustics
in a Cavity Using LES”
- “A Study of The Effects of Wake Passing on Turbine
Blade Film Cooling—both Numerics and Experiments”
- “Numerical Simulations of Flow and Heat Transfer around
Film-Cooled Gas Turbine Blades with Different Turbulence Models”
- “Large-Eddy Simulation of Transitional Flow over a
Low-Pressure Turbine Blade”
These projects are from national initiatives and the candidates
who would work on the project will be benefited by interactions
with national labs and experts in the field of mechanical and aerospace
engineering. Good candidates may be encouraged for higher studies
through these projects and can expect to have high quality publications.
Emoluments: Rs.12000-24000 for Senior Project Associate
and Rs.10000-20000 for Project Associate depending on qualification
and experience. The position is purely temporary and the project
duration is two years.
Qualification:Senior Project Associate: Ph.D or
Mtech with a good academic background in Mechanical / Aerospace
Engineering/ Applied Mathematics with specialization in Fluid Mechanics/
CFD / Turbomachinery / Thermal Science. Ph.D preferred.
Project Associate: MTech in Mechanical/Aerospace
Engineering with specialization in Fluid Mechanics / CFD / Turbomachinery
/ Thermal Science. B. Tech with an excellent academic background
and working experience in the field may also apply.
Knowledge of CFD software development, Fortran, C/C++, Java, High Performance computing including OpenMP and MPI programming is desirable.
Two posts out of seven is for those having background for experimental studies. Knowledge in using Hot-Wire Anemometer, PIV and LDA will be appreciated.
