Applications are invited for the post of Post-doctoral
Fellow (Project Scientist) under a joint Indo-French
project entitled "Plasmonic properties of checkerboard metallic
structures and films" funded by the Indo-French Centre for
Promotion of Advanced Research. The position is tenable for one
year, and extendable until 31 July 2011 only, upon satisfactory
performance. The Post-doctoral fellow will conduct experimental
work on developing and making metallic nanostructures with focussed
ion beam technology at the Ion Beam facility and measuring the optical
properties of the nanostructures. (S)He will need to interface with
the French group at the Institut Fresnel, Marseilles, and may be
required to work there for short durations.
Essential qualifications: Ph.D. in experimental
physics with a reasonable publication record. Candidates whose Ph.D.
work was on Optics / Lasers / Thin films will be preferred. Basic
computer skills are essential. NET /GATE scores are desirable. Salary
will be in the scale 15000-1500-30000 with medical facilities as
permissible. Minimum emoluments will be Rs. 20,000/- per month.
