Magneto-optical imaging
Picture shows the magneto-optical imaging setup Developed in the laboratory Of Dr. Satyajit Banerjee at IITK. The setup is used for mapping the local magnetic field distribution across a sample. The technique is useful to study the physics of a diverse variety of magnetic and Superconducting systems. The field mapping is done by Spatially mapping Faraday Rotation with high sensitivity. Presently with the setup at IITK we can detect changes in local magnetic field ~ 10 mG in a background field of few 100 Gauss. We have developed a new technique for this purpose.
