The Moonj Workshop of MOONJ COMMUNITY at IIT kanpur
The objective of the Moonj Workshop, organised from 17th Jan to 25th Jan, 2014, apart from teaching how to build Moonj artefacts to women from the locality of IIT Kanpur, was to perform an ethnographic study of the process of how Moonj artefacts are made and the process of how they are taught. The long term vision provided by this ethnographic study will be instrumental in developing an advanced curriculum and designing a platform to administer it. Eventually the goals realised will be in popularising, sustaining the craft, and optimizing the procedure.
