About the Symposium
An International Symposium will be conducted on the first day of the program. The Symposium will be open to all.
Some special/invited lectures will be delivered by eminent speakers in the broad area of ICME in the first half of the Sympisium day.
The second half will have a panel discussion followed by a general question-answer session with the audience.
Mode of the Workshop
The workshop will be conducted online in a flipped class mode under the Center of Continuing Education of IIT Kanpur using the MOOKIT platform as the Workshop Portal. All the participants will be registered on the MOOKIT platform for accessing the lectures and tutorials.
The workshop has been structured to be conducted in a modular fashion over a period of six days. Each day of the workshop will deal with one or two modules sequenced in the top down order of the length scales of ICME. Some pre-recorded video lectures will be uploaded in the Workshop Portal one week prior to the Workshop for fulfilling the prerequisites. During the Workshop, there will be live lectures and tutorials along with live interactions sessions with the Workshop Instructors.
The scope of interactive tutorial sessions during the Workshop is curtailed due to the unavailability of the High Performance Computational (HPC) facility and its operational manpower because of the pandemic situation. To compensate for this, optional live tutorial sessions (subject to an additional fee) will be arranged at a latter point of time upon improvement of the situation and availability of the HPC facility and its operators. Individual participants will be provided with login IDs and passwords to access the remote HPC facility to carry out live tutorials. All the necessary software will be pre-installed on the remote systems.

About ICME National Hub
![](img/Picture2.png)
Integrated Computational Materials Engineering (ICME) is an emerging and transformative discipline with huge potential to accelerate materials discovery, product design and process optimization. The focus of ICME is on INTEGRATION: integration of models of various processes, integration of models across multiple length scales, integration of design and manufacturing, integration of models with experiments, integration of software tools addressing multi-physics problems, and so on with the end objective of accelerating the design and industrial deployment of new materials in critical sectors.
Keeping this in view, IIT Kanpur and Tata Consultancy Services agreed to establish a National Hub on ICME at IIT Kanpur. The National Hub will act as a nodal point for national academia/laboratories and will collaborate with national/international academic institutions and will establish active collaboration with key industries (steel, aluminum, automotive, aerospace, glass, etc.) and government sectors (Defense, Space, Atomic Energy, Railways, etc.).
