Mr. Mantrala

Mr Mantrala is a postgraduate in Marine Geotechnical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras and currently pursuing Doctorate from Indian Institute of Technology (ISM), Dhanbad in the area of rock slope engineering.

He comes with over 32 years’ experience including 15 years in managing railway construction projects involving Project Engineering, Resource Planning & Control, Site Management, Business Development, Contract Management & Techno-Commercial Operations. He started his career as Project Associate in IIT, Madras and over next and for a brief period  served in Central Water Commission and Ministry of Surface Transport. Later he joined Indian Railway Service of Engineers by securing 12th rank on all India basis and served Indian Railways and Konkan Railway Corporation for more than 15 years. Later he moved to construction industry and served in Hindustan Construction Company, Maytas Infrastructure Limited. Currently He is currently he is working as Vice President of Afcons Infrastructure Limited at Mumbai.

 

His significant contributions are in the areas of :

  1. Development of Sky Bus Metro Technology

  2. e-Learning Modules on Formwork and Lean Construction for the construction industry

  3. Implementing many new technologies during the construction of Chenab bridge – The world’s highest railway bridge

  4. Developed a deep insight in “Fatigue Design and Detailing”
