Welcome

The Department of Management Sciences (DoMS), IIT Kanpur, is delighted to announce the second edition of its Doctoral Colloquium on the 6th February, 2027. The Doctoral Colloquium aims to bring together bright research minds to share thoughts, exchange ideas, showcase research findings, and network with the peer scholars, industry experts, and faculty members.

About the Institute

Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, established in 1959, is one of the premier technology institutions established by the Government of India. The aim of the Institute is to provide meaningful education, to conduct original research of the highest standard and to provide leadership in technological innovation.

About the Department

The Department of Management Sciences (DoMS) (erstwhile Department of Industrial and Management Engineering), IIT Kanpur, is first of its kind in the country to leverage the analytical education of engineers to train them into management professionals. Established as an interdisciplinary program in 1974, it subsequently evolved as a full-fledged department in 1988 and given the diversity of its programs from MBA, MTech, PhD, eMasters etc., has metamorphosed into the Department of Management Sciences (DoMS) from Department of Industrial and Management Engineering (DIME).

Eligibility

Currently enrolled doctoral candidates from recognized institutes and universities (full time or part time) are eligible to apply.

Submission Guidelines

An extended abstract (between 1000 and 1500 words including title, name of the author, affiliation, official email id etc.) may be submitted here.
Doctoral candidates working in the relevant fields of management research may submit extended abstract of their original and unpublished doctoral research work. Only one submission per doctoral candidate is allowed.

Registration

There is no registration fee for the conference. However, candidates who receive an acceptance email from us must confirm their participation by 15th January, 2027, via email, to conference_doms@iitk.ac.in.

The email must also indicate if the candidate requires accommodation on campus. A limited number of accommodations, for a maximum of two nights (5th and 6th February), will be provided to the students presenting their papers, in the Students' Halls of Residence, subject to availability.

Candidates whose submissions are not accepted and want to attend the Doctoral Colloquium 2027, may contact us. Requests will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis against limited capacity.
