About FACE 2025

The inaugural version of Faculty Alumni Collaborative Endeavour (FACE) 2025, organized by IIT Kanpur, is set to take place on October 3, 2025 at Stanford University.

Designed as a platform to foster long-term academic collaboration and future talent engagement for prospective faculty at IIT Kanpur, this global symposium will spotlight strategic collaboration opportunities in research, innovation, and recruitment at IITK by bringing together academic pioneers, researchers, thought leaders, renowned IITK alumni, as well as such prospective candidates.

Collaborative Purpose

The global symposium will serve as a platform to strengthen IIT Kanpur’s academic engagement with the global research ecosystem while nurturing long-term institutional research, academic partnerships, and recruitment pipeline, in the theme areas of Medical Devices, Diagnostics & Therapeutics; Sustainability; and Artificial Intelligence & Cybersecurity.

Note: The prospective candidates will see the option to upload CV, Abstract, and Statement when they pick the corresponding options (of Postdoc/Research Scientist/Senior-PhD) in the Registration form. Such prospective candidates (Postdoc/Research Scientist/Senior-PhD) who are deemed qualified will be offered travel support ($500 to scholars traveling by air from distant locations and $100 to those commuting locally). Their deadline to register is Sept 21.

Visitors can pay for parking through the ParkMobile app. Paid parking is only needed from 6 AM to 4 PM on Fridays.

The symposium seeks to foster deeper engagement between IIT Kanpur and the global academic and research community, promote meaningful partnerships, and build a strong network of scholars. It will also serve as an opportunity to connect with alumni and early-career researchers who are interested in exploring faculty roles at IIT Kanpur.

The inaugural FACE Symposium will be held at Stanford University, California, USA, on October 3, 2025.

The FACE symposium will be a one-day event comprising panel discussions, keynote and faculty prospect research session.

The symposium will feature three thematic tracks:
• Medical Devices, Diagnostics & Therapeutics
• Sustainability
• Artificial Intelligence & Cybersecurity

Yes, each thematic track will run sequentially, with dedicated panels and discussions tailored to its specific focus areas.

The Faculty Alumni Collaborative Endeavour (FACE) aims to bring together faculty from IIT Kanpur, alumni who are now in academic positions globally, as well as leading industrial researchers, to deliberate on emerging areas of research and catalyze collaborative academic programs.

The event is open to academic and research professionals, especially those affiliated with or connected to IIT Kanpur's network and mission.

No, there is no registration fee.

Yes, such prospective candidates (Postdoc/Research Scientist/Senior-PhD) who are deemed qualified will be offered travel support ($500 to scholars traveling by air from distant locations and $100 to those commuting locally).

Yes, speakers and panelists will be briefed in advance on their respective panel themes and expected contributions. Though the themes are inter-disciplinary we expect the speakers and panelists to discuss their niche areas they are most comfortable in. This would, we hope, lead to a meaningful cross-area discussion.
