How do I make a monthly donation?

To set up a monthly or recurring donation, visit the MAGIK page and click on the "Donate" button. Fill in the required details, select the "Recurring" option, choose the desired amount, and select the frequency of the donation. Then click "Pay Now" and verify your bank details. Your gift will be automatically deducted according to your selected frequency.

How can I update my credit card details if my card is expired?

You will need to reactivate your recurring donation with the updated card details.

Where does my money go?

Your donations support a wide range of initiatives at IIT Kanpur, including scholarships, research programs, campus infrastructure, and student activities. Every contribution helps us enhance the educational experience and advance our mission.

When will my donation be deducted?

Your donation will be deducted on the same date each month that you initially set up your monthly gift. For example, if you started your donation on the 5th, it will be deducted on the 5th of every subsequent month.

Only for US Donors: Why is my monthly donation receipt dated December 30th?

The payment processor (Zeffy) creates a cumulative receipt for your monthly giving. Since you give multiple times a year, there is no exact date for your giving. Zeffy chooses to date the receipt at the end of the year to be inclusive of all donations, but that does not mean the payment was made on that date. We assure you that the receipt is eligible to be used!

What are the tax benefits and when can I get my receipt?

Donations to IIT Kanpur are 100% tax-deductible and there is no limit on the amount. You will receive a receipt for your donations annually after the end of the financial year i.e. (April for Indian Donors & January for US Donors) which you can use for tax purposes. When will my name be reflected on the wall of donors?

Your name will be added to the wall of donors once your recurring payment is initiated and received in our bank account. This process usually takes 4-5 working days, after which your name will be displayed on the Wall of Donors.

How can I cancel my donation?

Yes, you can cancel your recurring contribution at any time. For Indian donors, you can check the subscriptions option in your bank's net banking, where you can cancel or modify your donation. And for US donors, kindly refer to this link: https://support.zeffy.com/how-can-i-edit-or-cancel-my-monthly-donation

I want one receipt for all the donations I’ve made to your organization this year. Is that possible?

If you’ve made a monthly recurring donation, you’ll receive one cumulative receipt for all of your monthly payments made during the year. If you’ve made multiple one-time donations, you will have already received a receipt for each individual payment. Since these documents have already been produced, we cannot create a cumulative receipt.
