Kaira Karmakar, born in New Delhi in 2006, was a prodigious talent with a remarkable blend of academic excellence and artistic brilliance. Growing up between India and Singapore, Kaira achieved more in her short life than many do in a lifetime. She authored a novel, edited her school’s magazine, and founded multiple student-led initiatives. As a certified yoga trainer and philanthropist, Kaira was admired for her compassion, creativity, and dedication to making a difference.
About the Scholarship
The Kaira Karmakar Memorial Scholarship Program is designed to provide comprehensive financial support to students who demonstrate academic excellence and a commitment to their communities. The scholarship will cover tuition fees and provide additional assistance for expenses such as boarding, lodging, books, supplies, health insurance, and transportation. By alleviating these financial burdens, the scholarship aims to allow recipients to focus fully on their studies and personal development.

Applications are open now, and the selection process will be based on academic merit, financial need, and a demonstrated commitment to personal growth and community service.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- First-year students with an All-India Rank (AIR) below 1000 (open category/Common Rank List) shall be eligible to apply for this scholarship.
- Eligibility shall extend to students whose total family annual income should not exceed six times the full tuition and academic fees (excluding refundable security deposits). Any future changes in tuition and academic fees will be factored in accordingly.
- An eligible student with a higher JEE Advanced All India Rank would be preferred for the scholarship, in case the number of eligible students exceeds the number of scholarships.
- Students must not have received any fee waiver from the Institute.
- To retain the Kaira Karmakar Memorial Scholarship, recipients shall maintain a minimum CPI of 7.5
- If a student doesn't meet the CPI criteria, the scholarship will be awarded to the next qualified student from the same batch.
- Students who receive the Kaira Karmakar scholarship will not be eligible for any other scholarship.
