Applications are invited for a temporary position of Project Associate in a DBT sponsored project at the Department of Biological Sciences and Bioengineering, IIT Kanpur.
Project Associate (01)
Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in any discipline of Science, Engineering, or related fields
- Prior experience in computational/data analysis (Python, MATLAB, R, or similar tools)
Desirable work experience:
- Strong interest in computational neuroscience, behaviour analysis, or data-driven research
- Experience handling and analyzing experimental/behavioural datasets
- Willingness to work with animal models
- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary research environment
- Good problem-solving and programming skills
- Experience working in research environments is preferred
Additional Considerations: The project involves circadian rhythm experiments, and therefore requires flexibility in working hours, including early morning or late evening shifts when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Perform computational and statistical analysis of behavioural and neural data
- Assist in daily animal experimental data collection
- Work closely with interdisciplinary teams including neuroscientists and engineers
- Maintain data pipelines, documentation, and analysis workflows
- Support ongoing research activities in the lab.
Salary Range: 22500/-
Tenure: Initially for three months, extendable up to two years based on performance and project continuation
