Applications are invited for a temporary position of Project Post-Doctoral Fellow in an sponsored project at the Department of Biological Sciences and Bioengineering, IIT Kanpur.

POSITION SUMMARY

A new project post-doctoral position is available in the Decision Lab at Biological Sciences and Bioengineering Department at IIT Kanpur. The project is related to understanding the neural mechanisms underlying decision making under stress. The project aims to use devices like EEG, eye tracking, heart rate-based measures to gain insights into the mechanisms underlying decision making.

Full salary and benefits in accordance with Institute's post-doctoral salary guidelines are guaranteed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities will include developing and using computational and other advanced data science methods to analyze behavioral and EEG data, presenting data at national and international meetings, and preparing manuscripts for publication.

NECESSARY SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

A doctoral degree and promising publication record in neuroscience, cognitive neuroscience and/or psychology. Those who have submitted their dissertation and are awaiting the defense are also eligible to apply. A strong background in and/or computer programming skills (e.g., MATLAB, R, and/or Python) are required. Strong background in EEG data analysis would be appreciated. The applicant should be self-motivated, able to work independently, an effective communicator, and reliable.

Salary Range: INR 65,000/- Consolidated

The position is purely temporary, for one year, but eligible for a performance-based extension.
