Vacancy for One Project Associate-I

Applications are invited for the post of Project Associate-I (1 no.) under the project titled “SuViJal – Safe (Surakshit) and Reliable (Vishwasniya) Water (Jal) Supply Systems,” funded by Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.

Essential Qualification: M.E./ M. Tech (Environmental Engineering or a related discipline).

Desirable Qualification/Experience:

  • Prior experience in microbiological water quality analysis.
  • Experience with laboratory instrumentation and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with modelling or simulation tools will be an added advantage.

Job Profile:

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting research on mechanisms and kinetics of microbial regrowth and biofilm formation in water distribution systems.
  • Development and testing of simulation models.
  • Assisting in the design and implementation of the SuViJal software toolbox.
  • Supporting the PI in other project-related activities, including data documentation and report preparation.

Consolidated Salary: INR 37000 + 20% HRA per month.

Nature of Position: Temporary / Contractual.

Duration of appointment: The appointment is for the entire two-year duration of the project, or until the end of the project, with performance reviewed annually.
