Applications are invited for one Project Associate-I in a DST-sponsored project "SPAARQ: Software Platforms and Algorithms to accelerate Research in Quantum – HPC” by Dr. Nisanth N Nair (Department of Chemistry, IIT Kanpur).

The work involves studying battery materials using density functional theory (DFT), molecular dynamics, and machine-learned interatomic potentials (MLIP).

We are looking for talented candidates with an interest in molecular modeling of condensed matter systems and strong programming skills.

The appointment is purely temporary and on a contractual basis.

Essential Qualification:

Masters in Chemistry/Physics/Material Science/Chemical Engineering  
OR
B.Tech in Material Science/Chemical Engineering

Desirable Experience:

• Knowledge in modeling condensed matter systems using DFT and/or Molecular Dynamics
• Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with developing MLIPs

Salary: Rs. 31,000 + 20% HRA (as per institute norms).

Duration of the post: 1 year (may be extended based on satisfactory performance).
