Applications are invited for two Research Associate-II positions in an DST-sponsored project "SPAARQ: Software Platforms and Algorithms to accelerate Research in Quantum – HPC” by Dr. Nisanth N Nair (Department of Chemistry, IIT Kanpur).

The work involves studying battery materials using density functional theory (DFT), molecular dynamics, and machine-learned interatomic potentials (MLIP).

We are looking for talented candidates with extensive experience in DFT modeling of condensed matter systems, strong programming skills, and an interest in developing MLIPs.

The appointment is purely temporary and on a contractual basis.

Essential Qualification:
PhD in Chemistry/Material Science/Chemical Engineering/Physics

Desirable Experience:

• Knowledge in modeling condensed matter systems using DFT and/or Molecular Dynamics
• Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with developing MLIPs
• Good track record in terms of publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings

Salary: Rs. 61000 + HRA (as per institute norms).
