Position: Project Post-Doctoral Fellows

No. of positions: 2 (two) 
Applications are invited for the posts of “Project Post-Doctoral Fellows” in the Project numbered SERB /CS /2016466 in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Kanpur.

Minimum qualification: 

  • PhD from a reputed University/Institute and an excellent track record and publications/patents in the area of cyber security

Desired qualification: 

  • Either (for 1 position)
    • Experience with hardware implementation of cryptographic primitives
    • Experience in development of coprocessing in ASIC and FPGA platforms
    • Excellent Knowledge of Cryptography and Cyber Security
    • Excellent Knowledge of VLSI Design
    • Knowledge of Side Channel Analysis
    • Proof of scientific writing skills
  • Or (for 2nd position)
    • Experience and publications in Machine Learning based techniques for malware detection
    • Experience and publications in Machine learning techniques for anomaly detection
    • Excellent Knowledge of Cyber Security Threat Models, Malware internals, Sandboxing, Honeypot techniques
    • Proof of scientific writing skills
  • Fluency in English language to make presentations and report writing
  • PhD completion proof at least in the form of provisional certificate is required.

Consolidated Salary: 50000 INR per month.

Work: The candidate’s tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Either (for 1st position)
    • Development of hardware and computer architectural innovations for developing cryptographic co-processors, secure enclaves, high bandwidth communication interfaces in hardware
    • Developing Patents, Research Papers, and Project Reports
    • Presentation at Conferences/Seminars
  • Or (for 2nd position)
    • Development of Malware analysis tools for industry scale robust malware detection and classification tools
    • Development and deployment of honeypots to capture malware in large scale
    • Binary analysis and reverse engineering of malware
    • Developing new techniques for malware detection and classification
    • Developing Patents, Research Papers, and Project Reports
    • Presentation at Conferences/Seminars

Working hours: 8:30 am to 6 pm (Monday to Saturday).

Duration: Appointment will be made initially for one year and can be extended up to three years or till the end of the project whichever is earlier, subject to satisfactory performance. Performance reviews will be held weekly. The appointment can be terminated at any time if found unsatisfactory.
