Project Assistant Position in Synthetic Biology

Applications are invited for one position of Project Assistant, initially for a period of one year (extendable depending on the performance) in the MoE sponsored project entitled "Design Of Synthetic Genetic Circuits: Robustness Towards Change In The Growth Rate " at IIT Kanpur.

Minimum Academic Qualification

BSc degree in Biotechnology + at least 6 months of laboratory experience

Desirable experience

1. Laboratory Techniques: Plasmid Isolation, Transformation, Gel Electrophoresis, Restriction Digestion
2. Instruments Handled: Benchtop Centrifuge, Microplate Washer, Plate Reader, Hot Air Oven, Autoclave, Incubator, pH meter, UV Transilluminator
3. Bioinformatic tools: BLAST, Snapgene
4. Basic idea about construction of a genetic circuit
5. Hands on experience on working with plate reader machine for analysis of protein expression and bacterial growth

Salary: 22,900 + HRA
