Research Associate (RA-I) Position in Robust Reinforcement Learning
Applications are invited for one position of research associate (RA)-I for a project entitled, “Distributionally Robust Constrained Reinforcement Learning with Function Approximation” at IIT Kanpur. The project is supported by the Prime Minister Early Career Research Grant (PMECRG), funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF).
About the Project: The project is on deep robust reinforcement learning with applications in wireless communications. Techniques and tools related to reinforcement learning (RL), optimization, wireless communications, and stochastic processes will be utilized to explore relevant questions. A portion of the project will be dedicated to implementing the developed algorithms on USRP-based wireless testbeds. The selected candidates will gain hands-on experience as well as exposure to the theoretical aspects of the field.
Duration: The candidate will be initially selected for one year, which can later be extended up to three years, or the completion of the project, whichever is earlier, based on performance.
Monthly Emolument: Rs. 58,000/- + HRA.
Essential Qualifications:
Ph. D. degree in EE/CSE/ECE or allied areas
OR
M. Tech. in EE/CSE/ECE or allied areas with at least three years of research experience with at least one publication in an SCI-indexed journal.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Good coding skills in Python/MATLAB.
- Experience with RL/DL models and their deployment.
- Conceptual clarity in basic probability, statistics, linear algebra, optimization.
- Strong publication records in EE/ECE/CS or allied areas.
- Experience on working with wireless testbed is a plus.
