Research Associate- I Position in Synthetic Biology and Biomolecular Circuit Design

Applications are invited for one position of Research Associate-I, initially for a period of one year (extendable depending on performance), in the DBT-sponsored project entitled "Development and Characterization of Regulatory Bimolecular Circuits for Plasmid Control in Synthetic Biology" at IIT Kanpur.

Minimum Academic Qualification

• Ph.D. degree in a relevant discipline such as Biological Sciences, Bioengineering, Biotechnology, or related areas.
  OR
• MTech/ME degree with at least 3 years of relevant research experience (post MTech/ME) and at least one research publication in an SCI-indexed journal.

Desirable Experience

Experience in the following areas is desirable:

1. Design and modelling of gene regulatory networks or synthetic biology circuits.
2. Familiarity with molecular biology tools and protocols including cloning, transformation, gene expression analysis, etc.
3. Experience with MATLAB and/or Python for modeling dynamical systems in biology.
4. Exposure to computational modeling techniques (e.g., ODEs, stochastic simulations, LNA) and software such as COPASI, COMSOL, or other relevant tools.
5. Understanding of control theory concepts applied to biological systems is a plus.

Salary: 58,000/- + HRA
