Applications are invited for the following positions in the project entitled, “Grid Readiness for EV: Enablers and Technological developments (GREET)”, funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Government of India.

Senior Project Associate (5 positions)

Salary: Rs 57,000 per month + HRA (ANRF norms)

Minimum Academic Qualification:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized university or equivalent and four years’ experience in R&D in industrial and academic institutions or S&T organizations and scientific activities and services,

OR

Master’s Degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized university or equivalent and two years’ experience in R&D in industrial and academic institutions or S&T organizations and scientific activities and services,

OR

Doctoral Degree in Science / Engineering / Technology from a recognized University equivalent.

Job summary:

We are seeking highly skilled and motivated Senior Project Associates to support advanced research and development projects in the field of Electric Power Systems. The successful candidates will work on multidisciplinary initiatives involving power system analysis, stability studies, renewable energy integration, and grid modernization. This role requires strong technical expertise in power system and power electronics modeling, simulation, hardware design, hands-on experience with industry-standard tools, and the ability to manage project deliverables efficiently.

Research areas:

  • Grid integration of EV charging infrastructure
  • Development of low-power EV charging infrastructure
  • Development of high-power EV-charging infrastructure

The candidate is required to have expertise in one or more of the following areas:

Power Electronics & EV Hardware Design

  • Proficiency in power converter design and control, alongside familiarity with power electronic hardware prototyping and testing.
  • Strong capabilities in DSP/FPGA programming and PCB Design.
  • Hands-on experience with microcontroller programming across platforms such as Arduino, STM32, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi.

Power Systems Analysis & Grid Integration

  • Advanced knowledge of power system dynamics, stability, protection, and control, utilizing industry-standard tools and techniques.
  • Proficiency in dynamic simulation using PSCAD/RSCAD or PSS/E, with a specific focus on modeling power electronic converter-interfaced generation systems.
  • Experience developing and implementing smart grid and power system communication protocols, including MODBUS, IEC 61850, and IEC 60870-5.
  • Practical experience integrating IoT communication modules (e.g., LoRa, Zigbee, Wi-Fi, 6LoWPAN) and developing IoT protocols (e.g., MQTT, TCP/IP, IEEE 802.15.4).
