Applications are invited for the following position to work with the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell. The post is temporary, and the appointment will be purely on a contractual basis initially for two years. The period may be further extended based on performance and institutional requirements.

Essential Qualification and Experience: Ph.D. in Science or Engineering from any IITs, with significant relevant experience in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), technology transfer, patent management, innovation, or research administration, preferably in an academic/research institutions like IITs/ IISc/ IIMs/IISERs. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in managing IPR related activities and coordinating with faculty, researchers, inventors, industry partners, and external IPR professionals.
Desirable Experience and Expertise
- Practical experience in IPR/patent management, including invention disclosure analysis, patentability assessment, prior-art search, filing strategy, and coordination with inventors and patent attorneys.
- Relevant experience in IPR compliance, patent portfolio/database management, documentation, and invoice processing.
- Handled RTI matters and providing IPR facilitation to startups and innovators and experience in technology transfer, technology promotion, valuation, commercialization, and industry engagement.
- Experience in coordinating faculty entrepreneurship initiatives and related applications and managed IPR and technology-transfer committee agenda items, meetings, and follow-up actions.
- Experience in drafting and coordinating IP/TTO agreements, including licensing and technology transfer related documents, conceptualizing, writing, and coordinating grant proposals for IPR, innovation, technology transfer, entrepreneurship, and commercialization initiatives, including preparation of technical proposals, budgets, supporting documents, and coordination with funding agencies
- Strong skills in project coordination, stakeholder management, report preparation, official communication, and record management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in MS Office and relevant digital/database tools.
