Applications are invited for Project Post-Doctoral Fellow under the project entitled “Accelerated Development of Next Generation High Strength High Performance Steel” at IIT Kanpur.

Salary Range: [60,000-5,000-85,200]

Essential Qualification: PhD in Materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or any related branch.

Desirable:

• Proficiency in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis of Materials processing, Manufacturing operation, Metallurgical/Chemical unit operations
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes like, steelmaking, liquid metal refining, casting, welding, thermal processing of metals, etc.
• Proficiency with ANSYS or OpenFoam or other fluid flow solvers
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment with good communication skills
• PhD degree from a reputed university/institute with an excellent academic record will be preferred

Term of Appointment:

• The appointment is purely contractual, and duration of contract is initially for one year, which may be extendible further depending upon satisfactory performance OR till the end of project whichever is earlier.
• Salary: Rs. 60,000 per month + 20 % HRA.
• Other facilities will be as per the rules of IIT Kanpur.
