Vacancy for One Project Associate

Essential Qualification: M.Sc. or equivalent postgraduate degree in environmental science/ engineering, atmospheric science, climate studies, or a closely related field.

Required skills:

  1. Basic proficiency in the MS Productivity Suite, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  2. Working knowledge of Python or R for scientific and environmental data processing and analysis.
  3. Basic working knowledge of ArcGIS or QGIS for spatial data processing and visualization.
  4. Basic understanding of air quality monitoring, atmospheric/environmental data, and scientific measurements.
  5. Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with attention to detail.
  6. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Nature of position: Temporary / Contractual

Duration of appointment: 1 year or till the end of the project (whichever is earlier), renewed annually based on performance.

Salary: INR 21600-1800-54000 per month consolidated (Salary shall be commensurate with experience & skills)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide scientific and administrative support to the project manager/project executive officer/post-doctoral fellows and project team.
  2. Assist in air-quality and environmental monitoring, including field deployment, data collection, and monitoring of sensors and scientific instruments.
  3. Process, clean, analyze, and quality check scientific and environmental data to identify trends and patterns and provide insights through graphs, charts, tables, and reports.
  4. Assist in statistical, time series, and QA/QC analysis, including identification of trends, patterns, and pollution hotspots.
  5. Assist in GIS-based data processing and visualization of environmental and spatial datasets using ArcGIS/QGIS.
  6. Conduct literature reviews and assist in the preparation of technical reports, handbooks, policy documents, and other project deliverables.
  7. Maintain organized records of project data, field activities, equipment/instruments, observations, reports, and other technical documentation.
  8. Undertake other project-related scientific, technical or administrative tasks as assigned
