Applications are invited for the following contractual post to work on the ANRF sponsored project titled, “Interface Driven Spin-Orbit Torques in Metallic and Insulating Magnets” in the department of Physics. The details of the qualifications and requirements are given below:

Name of the Post: Technical Assistant
Number of positions: One

Minimum Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in science/3 Years Diploma in Engineering and Technology.

Desirable: B.Tech (Electrical Engineering)

  • The candidate is expected to have knowledge in thin film deposition systems (DC and RF Magnetron Sputtering, Thermal Evaporation), vacuum technology, cryogenic systems, and electronic meters.
  • The candidate should have technical skills in maintenance of lab equipment, fixing/repairing of electronics and designing the mechanical parts of the equipment.
  • The candidate should have working knowledge of MS-Word, Excel & PowerPoint.

Job description: The selected candidate will be assigned lab related work which will include preparation of thin films by using the DC and RF Magnetron sputtering, Thermal Evaporation Unit, and their characterization using X-ray diffraction and Ferromagnetic Resonance.

Salary: Rs. 27,000 + 20% HRA

Duration of initial appointment: One year with provision of extension on satisfactory performance till end of the project duration.
