Optimization of Giridhar's Cold Storage Plant
Team did a comparison study with cold storages in and around Uttar Pradesh. Among all the cold storages visited, the location near one cold storage could possibly be the desired. One of the cold storages named “Estate Cold Storages” nearby Kanpur, and yet it was multipurpose one storing spices and kirana products like potato, powder service, potato cold storage services, potato powder supply, bidi. This has been a melting pot of farmers and middle men to store their goods. Virtual Warehouse in lines of Estate Cold Storage and Giridhar Cold Storage are developed. Approximate Construction costing and area requirement - As per NHB, with civil structure/ pre-fabricated engineering structure, insulation, cooling system etcetera as per prescribed standards excluding cold storage with mezzanine floors @ Rs 7000/- per MT . Typical layout design of 5000 MT Multi Commodity Cold Store with provision of rapid room cooling and palletized storage, suitable for long/medium term storage of Fruit and vegetables would have following typical layout as per NHB guidelines
