The Department of Electrical Engineering (EE) at IIT Kanpur will offer an a new graduate-level program called the e-masters program in Communication Systems. With the advent of 5G, 6G and Edge Computing in India, Communication systems is an area which is much in demand from various Private Industry, Government sectors, and PSUs. This program is intended to help working professionals in the area of electronics and communication engineering for their vertical carrier growth and improve their employment potential during a later movement. This program is expected to help working professionals in the Electronics Industry upgrade their skills while earning a masters degree and also enpower them with sustainable careers. It is a work-integrated program since qualifications and professional experience in the areas of electrical/electronics/allied engineering disciplines will be considered for admission into the program.

It is also a completely online program with well designed Industry relevant course content, assignments, and projects, designed and delivered by the best faculty in EE at IIT Kanpur. State of the art lectures and hand on experience in collaboration with Industry will also be an additional feature of this program.

The candidates enrolled in the program will have to complete a certain fixed number of courses in a flexible period of time. In addition to the courses, candidates are required to do two weeks of on-campus practical training involving hands-on lab sessions, testbed demonstrations, and lab visits in the state-of-the-art/cutting edge areas of 5G/Edge Computing/Machine Learning/AI for Communications.

The expected Background of professionals seeking enrollment is a BTech/B.E/B.S in Electrical/Electronics/Allied Engineering/Sciences disciplines with relevant background in signal processing and communications engineering. Working experience in industry in electrical/electronics/Allied Engineering disciplines is a must.

The targeted audience are working professionals from all established/reputed Industries in Electrical Electrical/Electronics/Allied Engineering disciplines.
