OBJECTIVE :

Through this project, our aim is to find the plausible solutions to the above- mentioned problem of water logging. We aim to provide solutions that can be implemented for the benefit of the environmental situation of the region and the health problems that the local people might face. Here we should perhaps explicitly state that here our aim is not to analyze the social aspects such as marriage, birth control, caste, religion etc. but the social aspect that we are studying here is the health and hygiene related issues that relate directly to the environmental conditions prevailing in the locality.

Introduction:

This project has been undertaken as a part of the course ART -406 on ENVIRONMENTAL ETillCS & DESIGN. The project required identifying problems in a selected area/topic and conducting a survey and coming up with possible solutions to the problem. The quest for a suitable problem to be studied under this project led us to put forth the following ideas to our project guide:

Congestion on GT. Road and it's remedies

Overall greenery of Kanpur city

Human Genome & related Ethical Issues

Environmental problems around Kanpur Central

Business Ethics

Socio-Environmental Analysis of Guba Garden

Conclusion:

Through our survey and experiences of the Guba Garden area, we had an opportunity to closely examine an unplanned settlement and gained first hand experience of the problems that such a settlement might end up with which in our case started from water logging and ended in a list of problems. The problems in this area are in such an advanced stage that no overnight or complete solution is possible. But we hope that our proposed solutions when implemented, make some headway in improving the environmental conditions and quality of life of the people.
