NEED ANALYSIS:

Plastic refills are made of polypropylene (PP) which takes more than 10 centuries to decompose and thus producing a large amount of bio non-degradable garbage. Further, the metal balls, which are made of tungsten carbide (TC), have a much longer life than they are actually used for. Also a lot of effort is put in to manufacture them, which is thus wasted.

A very rough estimate of the garbage produced by IITK itself per semester turned out to be around 25,000 refills. Thus it can inferred that a product which can help to reduce this garbage has got a lot of scope in coming years and help in making a "Better and Greener Environment ".
