Introduction:

Censorship: supervision and control of the information and ideas that are circulated among people within a society. Censorship refers to the examination of books, periodicals, plays, films  and radio programs, news reports, and other communication media for the purpose or suppressing parts thought to be objectionable or offensive. The objectionable part may be considered immoral or obscene, heretical or blasphemous, seditious  or injurious to the national security

Conclusion

Most of the people accept that CLASSIFICATION is a better option. This definitely reflects the maturity in the society and the feeling of having the responsibility on the individual selfs to decide on the rights and the wrongs.

Moviernakers have a responsibility to show the reality and thus should have the freedom. This justifies the respect of the rights and the responsibility of the members of the society for maintaining its integrity and purity. It also emphasis the use of cinema as a medium diverse than just entertainment and should come forward to address the social issues.

Censorship has played a role in shaping our mentality: This is very true in the perspective of Indian society. Sex and violence has never been an open topic of discussion here and today also the trend continues. Though due

Though sex is not justified to be a taboo in our society, people are reluctant to discuss issues

related to sex. People don't need any kind of cultural police. It is not the role of government

to evaluate the merits of expression, nor to separate "good" from "bad" speech. It is by exposing, confronting and addressing controversial speech, not by hiding it beneath a veil of censorship, that the merits of that speech can be tested; it is the responsibility of parents to determine what materials are appropriate for their children, and themselves. If the media misread the degree of public interest in or tolerance for particular fare-violent or otherwise- surely the swiftest way for the public to get that message across...is at the box office, the book or record store, or via the channel selector of a television set.
