Introduction:
In Emission Standard the three TYPES of International Emission Standard for Vehicular Emission: Japanese Emission system. Anerican Emission system. European Emission system (EURO SYSTEM). Compare the different standards then we might get to the conclusion that the American are stricter and they can be said to be equivalent to EURO-IV norms.
European Emission system?
The following European Emission system in short called has EURO NORMS
EURO - I EURO - II
What needs to be done to reduce pollution?
Refinery Improvement
From the Survey we came to know that the oil quality being supplied by our refineries cannot meet the desired norms. It's not only the car manufacturer's responsibility to ensure the emission standards, but the oil quality should be good enough to meet the standards. So the first step towards better environment and pollution control is the improvement in oil quality. The present Oil Refineries need to be improved. The major points are:
Reduce and substitute the Lead in Petrol and reduce the Sulphur in both Petrol and Diesel , Substitute Lead with other anti-knocking agents like Oxygenates., Promote alternative fuels like CNG and Propane.
TravelManagement
Travel Management can be very effective in pollution control. We list here some of the suggestions for travel management.
Reduce demand for travel by increasing the cost of travel.
Discouraging private vehicles and encouraging public transport.
Increase parking fees .
Increase Road Tolls .
Fuel taxes
Exclusive pedestrian zones
Provision of exclusive bus lanes
More flyovers ( More flyovers ensure lesser traffic stops and lesser fuel consumption)
Emission tax
Conclusion:
