Introduction:

As we know that Mehandi is perhaps the oldest cosmetic used in our culture. It is used commonly on various festive occasions like marriage, etc. It is a sign of happiness and importance of colour in our life. Without the presence of mehandi one can not imagine an Indian bride. Its values are closely associated with the bea~ty of an Indian woman. Even modem women can be seen interested in getting beautiful mehandi designs on their palms.

AVAILABLE MEHANDI APPLIER:

Traditionally people use a plastic cone for making various beautiful designs using mehandi. It is very popular method but only among expert mehandi designer. A person who is inexperienced in handling it can never think of making a good and delicate design with it. Of course many of us can think of subtle mehandi designs but hardly five percent of us would be able to copy it on the palm using conventional plastic cone. Handling this mehandi applier looks very easy but that is not the fact. One needs to apply constant pressure on the sides of th,-e cone along with moving the cone slowly to make the design. Hence synchronization as well as accuracy of manual pressure is the main problem. Also there is lot of material wastage. Moreover the user has no other choice available in the market. To solve this problem we envisaged a simple mechanical device like a pen, which can be used by any unskilled person and of course, by professionals as well.

NEED STATEMENT:

To design a Mehandi Applier which can be easily used even by an unskilled person, gives better performance and is also cost effective.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              Conclusion:

Our project idea is innovative and new to all. There is no parallel product available in the market to which one can compare to it. A lot of hard work on modifying the design has been done from our first design to the final product. Still many ideas can be given to improve the present design. We have used perpex for manufacturing the conical shaft in the project which is very costly. But, for large-scale production some kind of plastics can be used. We have tried to present a solution to presently available mehandi applier in limited time.
