Introduction:

The ITTK campus provides various resources to its students. These resources are not optimally used, and in some cases are actually abused by students. We have investigated these usage patterns with the intention of coming up with sociological and psychological aspects governing the same. Additionally, we have suggested some improvements in the way these resources can be accessed without in any way reducing the convenience being enjoyed by the students community at present.

This wastage are

people are either not bothered about the wastage,

people are not aware of the extent of the wastage and how detrimental it could be to their environment.

CONCLUSION:

We have seen above that there is substantial wastage of resources like food, power and paper.. Water and fuel consumption can also be reduced but a major rethink is needed on saving the former three resources. The ethical issues involved in abusing these is generally not clear to the student community because of the abundance of such resources. We think a lot of groundwork can be achieved by simply making very clear the implications on a person's finances. This, given the current status of our society, will definitely make a person think twice before using resources recklessly. We may safely say that the situation here is not grim and will perhaps never be. However it's important to realize that this is an ethical and societal issue - as it's the taxpayer's money that's ultimately going down the drain - and things can be vastly improved.
